The San Francisco Board of Supervisors approved the construction of the 706 Mission Street residential tower and Mexican Museum mixed use project.
Mexican architect Enrique Norten of TEN Arquitectos is responsible for designing the museum with the collaboration of Pfau Long, specializes in sustainable architecture and design, which is important in San Francisco since The City requires all public buildings to be LEED certified.
The Museum will enjoy significantly expanded space for its permanent collection, permanent and temporary exhibitions, an educational center, a restaurant and La Tienda, the Museum store.
It will be an attractive visitor destination;fulfilling its local, state, national and international mission to honor the perspectives of Mexican, Mexican American, Chicano, Latino and Latin American cultures through the arts and humanities.
