The site is situated in the middle of an artificial lake in south-east Shanghai, China.

Being the first to be completed and the focal point of the 5 commercial buildings planned, the showroom is intended to become a remarkable landmark for the new development.

The circular shape of the floor plans was determined by the dialogue with the waterfront, giving it a 270° lake view that is reminiscent of a lighthouse at the tip of the peninsula.

A wooden podium rises from the ground and becomes a 5 meter-high viewing point. This way, the promenade and the landscape are combined integrating nature and architecture.

Also, the buildings unique façade treatment creates a cloud like texture. The vertical fins have variations in orientation, responding to interior space functions requiring various natural light solutions.

At night, LED lights integrated in the vertical fins create a surreal reflection of a "colorful cloud" on the lake`s surface.

The building will function as a showroom while the area develops and will later become an community based art gallery.

AUDI CENTRE SINGAPORE BY ONG&ONG

With the building, the challenge was to deliver the same positioning and experience that’s consistent with Audi facilities around the world, whether it’s in Japan, Germany or Italy,” adds Reinhold Carl, Managing Director of Audi Singapore.

“If we consider Audi in the same light as one of the big fashion brands – Prada, Louis Vuitton, or Chanel – when you look at their stores, all over the world they have the same quality, the same standard,” says Jens Niemann, Corporate Architecture, Audi AG.

When you take away the street level, you’re left with a square. And a square doesn’t really go with Audi’s linear elements. That is why we played with the facade, and created offsets and double layers.

What we did was separate the square into two rectangles; with the offset you get a shadow along the curved edges – it is the same materials, but it looks like a picture.

Standing eight-storeys high, Audi Singapore's newly unveiled flagship store is the first ever high-rise Audi Terminal, and at 1,350 square metres per floor, is also the largest Audi showroom in Southeast Asia.

The façade is clad in aluminium with hexagonal cut-outs forming a honeycomb pattern, while full-height glass windows for the lower floors make the building appear to float off the ground.

This one-stop terminal offers a variety of services in a single location, housing showrooms, workshops, offices and even a café and waiting lounge for visitors.

As many as 35 of Audi's latest models are displayed in the showrooms on the 2nd and 4th floors. The cars are arranged in a "power curve", making the formation seem as if they are zooming by on a race track.

A specially designed lift carries cars to the servicing workshop that spans from the 5th to the 7th floor, while the offices take up the building's top level.

DAXING SHOPPING MALL SHOWROOM BY LATITUDE STUDIO

01-Daxing-Shopping-Mall-Showroom-by-LATITUDE
The showroom is conceived as a journey through a ramp area. It starts with the reception of the guest; continues through an auditorium; display areas; resting zone and finishes with the outlook of the future shopping mall building from the highest terrace area.

In this way, present time with the exhibits, and future with the view of the mall, are connected by a path, a path which works as an exhibition space. This path consists of a spiral staircase which goes up the building following a thematic sightseeing walk.

Thus, the project is aimed to provide the visitors with an experience of enjoying not just a group of shopping windows, but an experience of what the users will find and feel when walking through the alleys of the future mall.

The facade is finished with a ribbon-like concept similar to some areas of the future mall, but with the distinctive feature that is bent on the access to the building and the terraces.
