LONGHUA FACADE BY JAKE RUDIN

Winner of in-house competition at iBR, selected by client for construction (expected 2014). The facade concept for the Longhua Factory is a very simple concept that allows for a very beautiful result.

The idea is to minimize the number of windows to keep cost down and to shade the operable windows to allow the building to function more effectively.

The organic green form wraps around the southern face of the building going from the stairwell, to the green space on the first floor, up along the storage areas, and across the rooftop structure to finally drop down the eastern stairwell. Description from Jake Rudin.
