Folk traffic signs in Decatur

These folk art traffic signs sure make me slow down. They live on one of the many "Ponce de Leon" streets. This is a quiet one just northeast of downtown Decatur. There are almost as many Ponce streets as there are Peachtree streets but there aren't many signs like these.

Pictures from the Duck Pond Garden Tour 2009

Katherine and I did Atlanta's Peachtree Heights East Duck Pond Garden Tour today. We toured from about 11 until 2 in a light rain. It was wonderful. The sun would have been nice. But the clouds and rain intensified the green hues I think. At the bottom of the post is my slide show with nearly 80 pictures. They turned out "real good" as we say down here. For fans of French, don't miss the slide show.

The duckpond is a jewel one block from Peachtree Street. People get married on this lawn.

Here is Katherine with designer John Delong. He does insides and outsides. Email me: terry at surf303.com and I'll put you in touch.

There was plenty to make me happy, including these little blue flowers

This is a great composition but I just took the picture:

Arks of Barks from Barry Gregg Clayworks

Jeff (remember Jeff's Shutters?) needed a birthday present for the wife and invited me to tag along to Barry Gregg Clayworks. Lucky me.

Barry and Parker, his 3-legged dog, greeted us. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of Parker, the inspiration for Barry's happy bark ark period. Here's an ark.

Barry shows and sells all over the southeast. His work will catch your eye in a gallery or show and make you smile. This is from Mudfire more than a year ago, my first encounter with Barry's work.

Barry also models humans and rabbits when he's of a mind to.

Thanks to Jeff for the invitation. Thanks to Barry Gregg for the work. Thanks to Ms. Parker the 3-legged dog for the inspiration.
